Hey Beautiful People!! How are you all?
Pollution, heat, Sun, Dust can
harm your skin which lead to skin discoloration, harsh texture and
wrinkles. Therefore, taking a good care of skin is absolutely
imperative. Prevention is better than cure. Isn’t? Especially, by
following a definitive and disciplined routine to maintain your skin
younger and healthier forever. It is always better to be on the safer
side than to be sorry later on. So friends this is what the ‘CTM”
process is all about !!
Cleansing your skin first,
toning it and at the end moisturizing it, are considered as the 3 basic
yet magical things that you must do to ensure a healthy glowing skin.
I’ve already explained the importance of CTM in my last post.
The main job of CTM, is to remove dust, dirt and remaining makeup from
clogged pores and to give soothing, nourishment and moisturization to
the skin.
Why is CTM Essential?
CTM is essential because
-
It removes all the unwanted & harmful dirt, dust that you may have accumulated.
-
Restores the PH balance & nutrition to your skin.
-
Seals it with a protective layer.
How to choose products for A CTM routine?
There are end numbers of products available in the market, make sure you choose them specifically according to your skin type :
-
For oily skin: Use only oil free cleanser and moisture, the toner should be astringent with or without alcohol depending on how oily the skin is.
-
For combination to normal skin: A cleanser and moisture that is more in a liquid form, would work best . The toner should be rose water.
-
For dry and sensitive skin: Use a cleanser and moisture that is cream based , to keep the skin hydrated. The toner should be plain mineral water.
CLEANSING
All the
makeup lovers people like me, must use an additional product like
cleansing milk or baby oil to ensure that makeup is completely removed
in order to prevent the clogging of the pores. Use a good face wash on a
daily basis. Never use soap on your face, as it tends to dry out the
skin. Baby oils are also great makeup removers so use them instead as
they nourish your skin too.
QUICK TIP: Gently
massage your face and eyes with a generous amount of your favourite oil
or cleaning milk using your finger tips and leave it for 3-5 minutes to
help it loosen off the entire residue of all the products on your face.
After that, wipe off all the extra oil with cotton pad or washcloth.
With a cotton pad you are forcing the pores to gently open to flush out
the dirt mix. Then, follow with a face wash or cleanser. This is an
easiest way to remove the eye makeup too which is pretty stubborn as
compared to the other products.
TONING
I used to
skip this step frequently. But not now, after knowing the fact that it
has some subtle benefits for the skin, which is visible in the longer
run. Now the question arises, what is the use of the Toner? Well, our
pores are slightly open after the cleansing procedure and the toning
will firmly close them. The toners are also supposed to add hydration to
the skin to make it supple. Try to avoid toners, which have alcohol as
it will make your skin too dry. (Unless you are a super oily skin)
QUICK TIP: If
you ask me, I would always suggest a natural chemical free toners.
Green tea, Cucumber and Rose water are my favourite toners as your
regular toner. They make my skin supple, tighten and brighten. Splash
some toner on your face after cleansing it or you can spray toner onto a
cotton pad and dab all over face to close the open pores. And, let it
dry. The face mists are also available nowadays. Just spay them directly
on all over the face or take a little amount of the toner/mist in your
palm and pat your face with it. Follow immediately with a moisturizer.
Moisturizing
And finally,
after all the hard work, I am sure you would definitely like to keep it
forever! Right? And that’s what moisturizing does for you. :D :D yay!!! No
skin care routine is complete without this step. Moisturizing your face
means using a product, which will prevent the moisture loss from your
skin by creating a layer between your skin and the outside world. This
will help in hydrating your skin and restoring the necessary nutrients
to it. Do not forget to choose a moisturizer according to your skin
type. If your skin is dry or mature, you need a heavy moisturizer
whereas for oily and combination skin, a light oil-free moisturizer
would do.
QUICK TIP:
Mostly the oily skin people do skip moisturizer. Never ever do that, no
matter what your skin type is! Rather get a mosituriser according to
your skin type. Some oil free options can work great for all skin types
& round the year.
So, these are the three magical steps of your basic skin care routine which must be done twice daily. Morning and evening before you go to bed.
So now onwards, do not ever skip CTM,
even if you are blessed with beautiful and blemish-free skin, put in a
bit of effort starting today to ensure that it still looks amazing years
later.
